Built on a personal love of and for Teddy Bears, Teddy Bears of Torbay are proud to be associated with some of the major manufactures of handmade collectables.
Teddy Bears of Torbay is a family run business and operates within the beautiful landscape of the English Riviera. The proprietors of Teddy Bears of Torbay own a much treasured personal collection of teddy bears, not large when compared to some collections, but each teadybear has some distinct characteristic or sentimental value, a unique addition to the family.
The oldest teddy bear will be 79 in 2008, Teddy is his name, manufactured in Germany and possibly a Stieff. Despite his now balding head, missing right eye and hump back, he is still as much loved as the day he was introduced into the family all those years ago. His best friend is Dinky, 61 in 2008, he is much smaller in size and showing his age, a well worn woolly coat, patched face and missing left arm. Dinky wears with pride the velvet jacket and trousers that was made for him over 40 years ago. As he says, it helps to prevent the wood shavings spilling from his tummy.
In all the Teddy Bears of Torbay personal collection consists of about 50 Teddy Bears not all perfect but certainly all different and it’s the difference that makes Teddy Bears of Torbay the company, so successful.
